Join The Living Centre Community Volunteer & Work Trade Program
The Living Centre welcomes motivated individuals who are eager to be a part of 'making the vision happen'. Many individuals began their relationship with the Centre with experiences as a volunteers or through the work trade program, in our gardens, kitchen and helping with overall maintenance.
Work-Trade Opportunities at The Living Centre
We are happy to offer this work-trade opportunity at The Living Centre. The work-trade positions are available for those who can commute to and from the centre. The work-trade gives you an opportunity to attend the workshop or training of your choice in exchange for work that will support the Centre's needs and growth.
There is a variety of work to be done at the Centre. Usually a person will participate. Expect to participate in a diversity of work experiences.
Needs of the Centre include:
- Wild Food Harvester/Forager during the fall harvest season few days a week
- Working in the gardens, greenhouse and orchards
- Helping with the beautification of the Centre - cleaning, organizing etc.
- Office work
- Advertising and promotion
- Computer/tech work
- Visual arts
- Public relations
- Handyman, carpenter
The positions are part-time. People accepted for the work-trade will be selected based on experience, a persons consistent availability on certain days, and a willingness to support the needs of the Centre.
Positions offer $12 an hour toward any Living Centre workshop or course. Once you have accumulated enough hours you may participate in the workshop of your choice. The work-exchange does not include the correspondence courses or products. We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals with a strong interest to learn, grow and share.
