Amazing Facts about Sprouting
An important part of your raw food cuisine menu will be learning how to sprout and grow sprouts and greens in your own kitchen.
Sprouts contain the largest amount of nutrients per unit of any food known. Enzymes that initiate and
control most chemical reactions in our body are activated in the sprouting process. For example, vitamin B increases by 1,000 per cent and Vitamin C by 600 per cent in sprouted wheat!

Lorenna Bousquet-Kacera is the founder of Shamanu Earth Wisdom Teachings. Her passion for self-realization and the awakening of consciousness has been the guiding force in her life. Her 35 years of being both student and teacher of spirituality, wholistic healing and the 'art of living' has gifted her with a diversity of healing modalities and wisdom which she is always deeply honored and delighted to share. Mary Stearns, Certified Live-Food Educator
The Living Centre calls to my soul. It speaks to me of the natural world, to wildness, to the elements, to silence, and to long-distance Lake Huron sunsets. It whispers the secrets of our ancient roots, and hints at the direction of human destiny. There is a consciousness dwelling at The Living Centre, which speaks to my heart – one of peace, of purposeful intent, of integrity, honor and respect for all of life. And there is learning at The Living Centre which satisfies the mind, the heart and the soul. It has been the place where I have gone for nearly 20 years to learn how to be in our world in a more balanced, healthy, peaceful and gratifying way.
I have attended numerous trainings at The Living Centre over the years. I trained in Ayurvedic Living Nutrition and Living Cuisine. I continue to apply Ayurvedic Principles to determine my own particular constitution, and how to adjust my lifestyle and eating habits for improved health and well-being.
In 2 008 I had the privilege of being the Live-Food Kitchen Co-coordinator and Instructor for The Living Centre. It was an honor to be given the opportunity to become so completely immersed in this wonderful and dedicated spiritual community. As a result, I was invited to spend the winter preparing raw food meals for a woman who knows that this is the diet which will best support her health.
I have dabbled in herbal medicines and wild edibles and learned how to add them to the dishes I prepare. I have indulged my body in free movement, breath work, sound healing and meditation with Lorenna through her Shamanu: Earth Wisdom Teachings and loosened up, freed up, and released many pockets of stuck energy both physically and emotionally.
As a yoga instructor of 25 years I have been able to plant many seeds and pass on words of wisdom drawn from the teachings at The Living Centre. In my own personal practice of yoga, most of the postures I do now, move from the static yogic posture into wave motion I learned through Shamanu. Someday I may incorporate this way of moving into my yoga classes.
