Shamanu: Earth Wisdom Teachings blends the powerful teachings of Earth Wisdom spirituality with Deep Ecology, Eco-philosophy, the science of Living Systems, the Universe Story and body-centered practices. The Practices:
The Teacher Training integrates the four primary teachings of the Shamanu: Earth Wisdom Teachings. While there is a synergistic merging of the four processes, each addresses a specific aspect of oneself and ones relationship with Earth.
The first three – Primordial Movement, Earth~Rhythms and Living from Your Heart address the first step in the process of conscious transformation – Heal Thyself. The practices return body, mind, emotions and spirit to their original state of health and vitality, while reawakening our oneness with Nature.
The fourth process, Earth Wisdom Teachings moves us from the ‘me to we' consciousness, giving empowering tools as we step into the world and reclaim our place as co-creators with Life. The process is of course not a linear one. Service to the whole and the healing of oneself flow in and out of each other in a beautiful dance of mutual enhancement.
Intellectual knowledge and philosophies offered through Shamanu coupled with a felt experience of our ecological self opens new pathways in consciousness. The Shamanu body-centered practices are powerful because of their primordial nature. Through movement, dance, sound, rituals and meditations that emulate the expressions of nature we learn to live and think like an eco-system.
Primordial Movement
Primordial Movement emulates the biological movement processes of life. A variety of movement explorations, include wave motion, micro-movements, sounds, and breaths, enliven our organism back to its natural state of flexibility, fluidity, core strength and wholeness.
Primordial Movement awakens bio-intelligence. The liquid, undulating organic movements allow us to tap into nature's self-healing powers, restore vitality & an extraordinary sense of well-being.
Primordial Movement explores the idea that we are biological living systems in the form of human bodies with the capacity to self-stabilize, regenerate and evolve. We are naturally resilient, intelligent, and interconnected in all ways with our biosphere. Rousing our inherent ability to unite with the primal movements of life turns our practice into a communion with life's restorative energies.

Earth~Rhythms
All ancient cultures used sacred dance as a way to celebrate and unite with creation. Embodying the Elements through our dance in the context of ritual and intention is a way of awakening their essential life force and how their creativity expresses through you. Because you are made from the Elements, connecting deeply with their story means you connect deeply with yours.
The Earth~Rhythm practice offers primal ways to move energy, cleanse, recharge, connect with other life forms, pray and worship. We tap into Earth's evolutionary dance, exploring endless improvisation, transformative movements and acts of creativity to create harmony and balance in our personal and social lives.

Part 2: Correspondence Course
Provides foundational information and will support the education you receive in the five day trainings.
The Correspondence course consists of:

Part 3: Four 45 minute telephone consultations with Lorenna Bousquet-Kacera.
Part 4: A 2-Day Private Teacher Training with Lorenna Bousquet-Kacera founder of Shamanu Earth Wisdom Teachings
Successful completion of the three trainings and Correspondence course will qualify you for the private teacher training. This part of the training is to ensure that you have clearly understood and integrated the course material into your life and are ready to share this information with others. During the Teacher's Training, qualified participants will develop expertise in facilitating the Shamanu practices and conveying the philosophies of Shamanu in a clear and appropriate manner.
Teaching and speaking skills will be reviewed and support given to develop the expertise needed to facilitate the Shamanu Earth Wisdom Teachings. Each day will include practical training and teaching opportunities as well as assignments. 
You will be tested through experiential, oral and written exams. If you do not pass you may retake it. If you do not pass the second time you are required to wait six months before re-taking the exam. A requirement mark of 85% or higher is needed.
Upon completion of the designed educational process you will be certified as a Shamanu Earth Wisdom Educator from The Living Arts Institute. As a certified instructor your relationship to the Institute will be that of an independent contractor.
In order to retain certification, you will be required to attend a 5-day Shamanu Earth Wisdom Teachings training once every two years.

What if I am not very healthy or flexible, can I still become a Shamanu teacher?
The Shamanu Teacher Training is for every 'body'. Because of the nature of the program the teacher in training will receive the many healing and transformational benefits of Shamanu Earth Wisdom Teachings. Shamanu is a self paced process that teaches the importance of body messages and inner rhythms. People at all levels of age, health and experience are welcomed.
What are the prerequisites before being accepted for the private teacher training with Lorenna?
- Regular practice of the Shamanu practices, as taught by Lorenna Bousquet-Kacera.
- Attendance and completion of the trainings listed
- Completion of the Correspondence course
- Passing and completion of the Teacher Training course
- Signing and submitting the Educator's Agreement.
When will I receive the Correspondence Course?
The Correspondence Course will be mailed to you within ten days of registration. The Correspondence course provides foundational information and will support the education you receive in the five day trainings.
Can Shamanu be incorporated into an already existing practice?
The practices can be offered on their own and incorporated into an already existing practice. Each of the trainings includes practical instruction which you can begin to apply immediately into your daily life and present career.
Do I receive discounts as a Certified Instructor?
Yes, you will receive a 10% discount on all future workshops and trainings through The Living Centre and 10% off all retail products. Also, our certified instructors receive a 10% commission for referring students for enrollment in any of the Living Arts Institute Certification Training Courses.
What does it mean to be a Living Arts Institute Educator?
Upon completion of the three 5-day trainings, the correspondence course and teachers training you will have the opportunity to become a Shamanu Earth Wisdom Educator. As a certified instructor your relationship to The Living Arts Institute will be that of an independent contractor.

A Personal Note from Lorenna Bousquet-Kacera, founder of Shamanu: Earth Wisdom Teachings
Shamanu began in 1989 birthed from my own healing crisis. After 20 years of being on a conscious spiritual path, studying and teaching wholistic health practices how could I get sick? Reluctantly leaving the spiritual community I was a part of I entered a brand new world where my body and my emotions became rich resources for healing.
Connecting with a wisdom that transcends the mind I entered the space where nature, spirit and body merged into a beautiful Oneness. Dance, movement, sound, drumming and rituals from the most primal to the most refined opened a whole new language – the language of the heart. Healing was swift and filled with joy. Childhood traumas revealed and healed themselves with little to no effort and I felt truly free for the first time in my life. I knew that healing must and can only happen through pleasure, love and the reunion of body, mind and emotions with Nature.
Shamanu means ‘the embodied unity of Spirit and Earth. It also means ‘becoming the Shaman U already are'. Supporting individuals in the art of living, reconnecting with ones inner ‘guidance system', creating physical, mental and emotional vitality, resolving trauma, enhancing relationship, making peace with where you're at, re-patterning your life and sinking into the wisdom teachings of the Earth, are what Shamanu is all about
Turning wounds into art, pain into compassion, shame into power, worry into possibility and fear into creativity and service is the invitation of Shamanu.
The compilation of this course has occurred over the last twenty five years. As an organic process, which means it is, like life, in constant change and creative flux, I have hesitated to put structures around it. However, like a car, structure can be useful when used to get us to places that we wish to go.
The Self will never stop its yearning for growth and expansion. Like the Divine Child within who instinctively knows the wonder of Life, the desire to ingest Life's awesomeness with each breath lives strong in all of us. I offer you this program in the spirit of creativity, play, compassion and love.
