A two to three-month internships in a Forest Gardening Program, a cutting edge regenerative educational centre in the middle of Carolinian Canada. Internships run two days per week from May 1st to September 1st, and focus on professional forest gardening design and ecological entrepreneurship.
The internship offers full immersion and guided mentoring from plant understanding to regenerative ecological design. This is a unique opportunity – there’s nothing else like it, period. Interns must be self-directed and self-sufficient, organize their own accommodations, and provide their own transportation. Two internships positions are available, at the cost of $2,000 per intern per month.

Carolinian Canada Forest Gardening internship program is extending needs-based scholarships to outstanding internship applicants. In your application, please indicate the amount of money you are able to contribute per month for this unique internship experience.
Who – Self-directed, motivated forest garden designers committed to creating positive ecological and social change in the world. Must have completed or in the process of completing a Permaculture Design Certification Course or Forest Gardening Certification Course. Preference given to applicants who express a sincere passion for ‘Being the Change they Want to See in the World.’
What – Action learning internship with Carolinian Canada Forest Gardening, through a cutting edge regenerative educational centre combining disciplines of sustainability to integrate humans into the landscape by designing productive ecosystems for individuals and their homesteads, businesses, and communities. Internships are a combination of research and hands-on project-based learning. Interns will learn about all aspects of running an ecological business while collaborating with professionals in the fields of education and design, development, and practice. Skills learned include clear communication, low-tech field methodology, edible landscape establishment and caretaking, and integral design systems (wholistic management, spiral dynamics, deep ecology, local wild food nutrition and medicine. The program is flexible, seeking to achieve the learning goals of the intern while meeting the needs of the educational centre.
INTERNSHIP SESSION & TOPIC AREAS

Interns may apply for one internship session of two to three months within the May 1st to September 1st time period. The primary project areas of the internship are Forest Gardening Design, Ecological Herbalism and Deep Organic Entrepreneurship.
• Forest Gardening Permaculture Design – Communities require local food security to thrive in the coming years. The intern helps build community through integrative forest garden and agriculture research. For example, a couple of projects we are currently working on is a an edible production orchard transitioning to permaculture forest garden and launching a forest garden network of gardens, homesteads and diversified organic farms throughout Carolinian Canada - Southwestern Ontario.
• Deep Ecological Entrepreneurship – Challenge yourself to the most pressing issues confronting us today through innovative enterprises that regenerate ecological and common well-being. Develop the skills for inter-and intra-personal communication, ecological entrepreneurship development, whole-systems promotion, open partnership enterprise models, and action documentation of ecological and community solutions to global climate change and peak oil. Interns will enhance their learning through hands-on experience and practice with ecosystemic professional management; focusing on partnership.
Where – The internship will take place in the Carolinian Canada bioregion of the Southwestern Ontario, Canada. The Carolinian Canada Forest Garden program is based at The Living Centre. Interns will have the opportunity to participate on a local well established Forest Garden Project for the duration of the internship.
